The Vergennes Burying Ground Restoration Project will be hosting a special ceremony on Sunday, June 23 at 2 pm. The Seth Warner – Rhoda Farrand Chapter of the DAR will conduct a grave marker ceremony for Major Jesse Lyman who served in both the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. The SUVCW James A. Garfield Camp 62 will hold a ceremony at the newly restored stone of Civil War Veteran Private Sanford Ayres. All are welcome! The cemetery is on Mountainview View, just off School St.
