Join the Rokeby Museum for the annual celebration of all things sheep! Merino sheep farming transformed the economy and landscape of Vermont in the early 1800s. At the time, the Robinson’s flock numbered 1,500! Today, this cornerstone of Vermont’s heritage is very much alive and well.
This family-friendly event will feature free admission, an instrument petting zoo with Young Tradition Vermont, spinning demonstrations with The Burroughs Garret, sheep, and wool products from Hands & Heart Farm, crafts & lawn games, children’s history talks, and a story walk on the Green Trail.
In conjunction with the Sheep and Wool Day activities, Rokeby Museum will be free to the public in the afternoon. The exhibition and historic house will be open for the public explore.
