First Day history hike in Crown Point, on Wednesday, January 1, at 1 pm. Gather at the Crown Point State Historic Site Museum for a 2.5-mile guided hike, conditions permitting. In addition to the ruins of the two pre-Revolutionary War forts, visit the memorial lighthouse dedicated to Samuel de Champlain. Participants may encounter a colonial era soldier who will tell us how they survived the winter there. Free and open to the public. Wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.
