Branbury Classic

Nestled against the Green Mountains, just below Rattlesnake Point is Branbury State Park. The lake region is a most spectacular and pristine place to swim, bike and run. Novice and advanced athletes alike marvel the beauty of our courses and enjoy the mountains, lakes and streams of Central Vermont.

Race Details


The 1.5 mile paddle portion of this event may be completed in a Kayak, Canoe, or Paddleboard.


Registration / Bib Pick Up:

Between 6:55-8:00 am at Branbury State Park on race morning.

Detailed pre-race announcements will be emailed prior to registered participants.  Final announcements at 8:15 am. Sprint racers can register, listen to pre-race announcements, set up their transition area.


Race Time: Race Starts at 8:30 am.

Important age group information: The age group of a participant will be determined by age on Dec. 31 of the event year, not by age on race day. For example: If you turn 25 years old in November of 2021, you will race and be ranked in the 25-29 age group for the entire 2021 season.

Triathlon Individual Age Groups: will be every 5 years: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, etc. for men and women.


Relay Teams: 2 to 3 person teams. Categories will be: all-female, all-male, and mixed (co-ed) with 39 and under OR 40 and over age groups (note: all members of a relay team must be 40 and over in order to compete in that division). Relay teams tag in the transition area.


Awards: Top 5 overall, top 3 in each age group, and the top team in each category will receive beautiful custom awards in an awards ceremony at approximately 10:45 am


Amenities: Included in your entry fee is free Professional digital photos, free sports drinks, bagels, customized swim cap, customized water bottle, custom awards to top 5 overall and top 3 in each age group, fully supported aid stations, sponsor samples, awesome raffle giveaways, safe course, and post-race refreshments.

We are excited to offer Massage ($1 per minute), custom Vermont Sun tech shirts (only $15 if ordered with online registration),  beautiful custom finisher Medals ($7.50 must be ordered 1 month in advance during pre-registration), Louis Garneau, and DeSoto triathlon race clothing and more for those who are interested.


Food and Refreshments: Free to athletes at all events.


Branbury Admittance: Included in your entry fee. Spectators will be charged $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children at the gate. Fee is good for the entire day so bring the family and enjoy the spectacular lake, beach, and mountain setting! Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash and are not permitted on the beach.

Massage: Available at all events


Refund/Transfer Policy: Registrations may be transferred to another race or athlete within the current series for a fee of $20 and providing it is requested at least 1 week prior to race day.  Absolutely no refunds or transfers into the 2022 season.

When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, Vermont sun maintains the right to cancel the event.  Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or the post-awards ceremony to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety.  Such conditions fall under the label “Acts of God,” and will not result in refunding of any race entry fees or future event credits.

Single:

July 18th race $65 until 2/18 $77 until 6/18  $85 until 7/13

Student Pricing (ages 17 & Under) $65 until online registration closes

Team:

July 18th race $93 until 2/18  $110 until 6/18  $120 until 7/13

Race day registration available for an additional fee of $25. All event race dates are limited to 400 participants.


Rules: In 2021 all of Vermont Sun Triathlons will be USAT sanctioned. USAT is the national governing body that provides great benefits that we now feel make it worth sanctioning all of our triathlon events.
