Snow squalls, slick roads lead to slide-offs

LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – First responders are warning the public about slick conditions on roads around the region.

In the Upper Valley, crews reported several slide-offs Tuesday morning. In one, a driver lost control on Buckingham Place Road in Lebanon, snapping a utility pole and bringing down live wires. The driver of the vehicle stayed in the car until crews determined the power was off.

Firefighters say the conditions on the roads were changing rapidly Tuesday morning. “The squalls are coming on in a hurry and dumping quite a bit of snow. So, our message to everyone is just drive slow. If you don’t need to be out on the roads — especially when there are squalls — don’t be driving around,” said Lebanon Fire Capt. Jonathan Copeland.

Snowy conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday.
