WEST LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – The largest selection of jams and jellies anywhere in the United States is in West Lebanon, New Hampshire.
That’s according to the owner of the Amish Jam Jelly Honey House, which recently opened in the 12A shopping corridor. Along with jams and jellies, the store also carries peanut butter, salsa, pickled products, barbecue sauces, relishes, and handmade pastas.
Store owner Joey Pellegrino says it’s all made by the Amish, who are known for living a simple life. “The biggest selling barbecue sauce in the supermarket, the first ingredient is high-fructose corn syrup. You don’t find that in Amish products. Everything is natural, no preservatives and it’s healthier, a healthier choice. People these days are looking for a healthier choice.,” he said.
While almost everything in the store is made by two Amish families in Pennsylvania, the market also carries honey from a farm in Plainfield, New Hampshire, and maple syrup from a farm in Thetford.
