SHELBURNE, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities say a house in Shelburne is a total loss after a fire on Tuesday.
The blaze erupted at the home on Palmer Court just after 3 p.m., shutting down part of busy Route 7.
Two people were in the backyard when the fire started, so no people were injured, but the fire chief says it appears a cat died inside.
There was minor damage to a neighboring home.
Investigators at the scene on Wednesday could not determine what sparked that fire.
