BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont’s lone congresswoman won reelection and said she hopes to find compromise in her second term.
With Republicans in line to control all three branches of government, Democratic Rep. Becca Balint said she will continue to try to work across the aisle while also holding the new administration accountable.
Balint said she hopes for a productive session but has her doubts.
“I am concerned it’s going to be more about messaging bills, more about rhetoric and dividing us, and not enough about doing work on behalf of the American people. I hope that I’m wrong. I really do, I hope that I’m wrong,” Balint said.
Balint said she will continue to work on preserving reproductive and voting rights.
