Brattleboro man pleads not guilty to resisting arrest charges following multi-state manhunt

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – The man accused of leading police on a multi-state manhunt pleaded not guilty to certain charges today.

Shane Eskra of Brattleboro was arrested Wednesday after police say he fired a shot into the air and then fled into New Hampshire. While there, police say he was seen with a handgun screaming in the parking lot of Runnings, a sporting goods store.

Eskra allegedly crossed between Vermont and New Hampshire again and was eventually cornered in Hinsdale, where he shot at officers.

Thursday, Eskra pleaded not guilty to charges of resisting arrest. He’s due back in a New Hampshire courtroom next week to answer to felony charges. In the meantime he’ll stay behind bars.
