Made in Vermont: Found and Feral

JERICHO, Vt. (WCAX) – Tucked in her tiny workshop, a busy Jericho mom is helping other busy moms look and feel good.

“I’m really inspired by different cultures,” says Molly Bosley, owner of Found and Feral.

On the day we came to visit, she was hammering out metal to make earrings. Energized by her world travels, but rooted to her home in Vermont. Each piece of jewelry seeks to blend flavors from across the world, and her backyard. Even before she started making jewelry, the art school grad, knew her career would be creative.

“For a long time, I did fine arts. I did large-scale paper cutting, which requires a pretty big space. I didn’t have that after a while when we moved, so I needed to find something I could do in my living room,” Bosley said. “I did embroidery, I did sewing, I did collaging, and I thought I was supposed to be a fine artist and show in galleries.”

For a while, she veered off into vintage clothing pop-ups under the name Found and Feral. “Made jewelry to go along with it and people really liked the jewelry. And then Golden Hour in Burlington and Winooski picked it up,” Bosley said. That was back in 2016. Nowadays, the jewelry is the name of the game. Bosley says earrings are her biggest sellers, but she’s recently started dabbling in necklaces, too. All of the products she makes are lightweight and stylish, crafted from quality metals to avoid irritation.

Her alluring accessories are still available at Golden Hour, and 40 other retailers across the country, in addition to online. Bosley says despite that, shows and fairs are some of her favorites. “It’s so motivating when you’re in person and people are saying oh my gosh I love this, this is so cool,” she said.

As her business grows, so do her kids. Bosley, a mom of two, says she finds time to make jewelry in stolen moments, like when the little ones are asleep or at school. The constant crunch for time actually helped her to identify her mission for Found and Feral. “I used to have like 10 bracelets on and 10 necklaces and do it all up, and I’m like, I don’t really have time to get dressed,” she said. “I’m a mom to two young kids, I just want to look good.”

That’s something she wants others to feel, too. “A lot of the customers that buy my jewelry are also moms and don’t have a ton of time to themselves so I just want to make sure I’m making it easy,” she says with a smile.
