The Vergennes Burying Ground Restoration Project will be hosting a very special Memorial Ceremony on Sunday, June 23 at 2 pm. The Seth Warner – Rhoda Farrand Chapter of the DAR will conduct a marker dedication for Major Jesse Lyman, a Revolutionary War veteran. The James A. Garfield Camp 62 will conduct a remembrance ceremony for Civil War veteran, Private Sanford Ayres, whose memorial stone was recently replaced. The cemetery is on Mountainview Lanne, just off School St. All are welcome.
