SHELBURNE, Vt. (WCAX) – Layoffs have been announced at Vermont Teddy Bear.
It comes after the business last month was bought by the Vermont Flannel Company and its apparel divisions were sold to other buyers. Now, the company says its distribution center — part of the apparel division — is closing because it was unable to negotiate a new lease for the warehouse. This is a different building than the Shelburne factory.
Around 30 employees will be terminated starting Thursday and the warehouse will close June 6th.
