We are in the southernmost part of the path of totality, which means that if the weather is kind we will see the shadow of our moon completely cover the sun. We plan to have a celebration of our solar system whatever the weather turns out to be on April 8th. There will be eclipse themed snacks, games and activities, so bring a blanket or chair if the weather is good, or stop by and come inside if it’s not.
To aid in safe viewing, We have eclipse glasses, materials to make a pinhole box viewer, safety binoculars and a very special refracting telescope. Thank you ECHO center!
The total solar eclipse begins in Vermont on April 8, 2024 at 3:25 pm EDT with the final exit of the Moon’s shadow at 3:31 pm EDT. Through Vermont, the speed of the Moon’s shadow will accelerate from 2550 miles per hour to 2860 miles per hour!
