NORWICH, Vt. (WCAX) – After the announcement of the resignation of president Dr. Mark Aranumo, WCAX has learned that an investigation into potential school policy violations by Dr. Aranumo was conducted.

In an official statement by the university, officials praised Dr. Aranumo’s service to the school, but also said, “the Norwich University Board of Trustees was informed of some actions by Dr. Anarumo that may have violated University policies.”

After the investigation, they found that he violated Norwich’s “core guiding values,” and was placed on paid leave, but Dr. Aranumo tendered his resignation before the investigation report was finalized.

University Provost and Dean of Faculty Dr. Karen Gaines is serving as acting president while the Board of Trustees figures out their next steps.
