The Friends of the Union Meeting Hall in Ferrisburgh is hosting a pumpkin carving contest to get everyone in the mood for Halloween. The organization invites everyone to its first annual Ferrisburgh Pumpkin Carving Contest and Display next week.
Get creative with your carving skills and help us create a beautiful spectacle of jack-o’-lanterns for all to see. Pumpkins will be on display under the maple trees of the Union Meeting Hall.
Participants will be entered into categories based on age. The older categories will include most unique and best carving.
Entry is free and open to the public. You do not have to enter in order to have your pumpkin displayed. After judging, the pumpkins will be on display at the Union Meeting Hall on Friday and Saturday nights, October 30-31.
Entry forms will be available at drop off for the carved pumpkins at the Union Meeting Hall on Thursday Oct. 29, 3-7 p.m., and Friday Oct. 30, 3-4:30 p.m. Judging will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday the 30th.
Organizers ask that people abide by general COVID-19 precautions at drop off: mask wearing, and staying home if experiencing a fever or cold symptoms.
