BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A group is planning to gather Saturday to search for a man who police say has been missing for more than a week.
Burlington police say last Friday, Joseph Gagnon, 52, was driving on the beltline at 7:44 p.m. when the car drove off the road and crashed into a fence on the east side. It was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
BPD officers say Gagnon was not there when they got to the scene of the crash. For the past week, members of the BPD Emergency Response Unit have searched the area using drones, efforts which the department says are ongoing.
Saturday, friends and family are forming a search party to continue looking for Gagnon in the area. The group will meet at the Ethan Allen Homestead at 11 a.m.
BPD officials said this case has been assigned to the Detective Services Bureau to allow for more involved investigation.
