ROCKINGHAM, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police have identified the victims involved in a Saturday morning crash on I-91 in Rockingham that left two people dead and two injured.

Police say 39-year-old Taylor Binnington of North Haven, CT drove Hyundai minivan that crashed into a tractor trailer truck. Crews pronounced him dead on the scene. Binnington’s wife, 36-year-old Evelyn Lake was a passenger was in the rear seat. The couple’s 4-month-old daughter Parry Lake was next to her mom in the back seat. Emergency crews life-flighted her to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.

Police say emergency crews took Lake and the couple’s three-year-old son to DHMC for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation into the crash shows multiple northbound vehicles were involved in minor crashes and slide-offs due to deteriorated road conditions and low visibility in the snow. Police say the fuel tanker truck had stopped due to the crashes ahead, and the Hyundai was unable to stop in the slippery conditions and rear-ended the truck.
