EAST BURKE, Vt. (WCAX) – Mother Nature’s timing couldn’t be better for Vermont ski resorts.
Burke Mountain Resort says conditions are the best they’ve been in years. With several events planned already, this weekend is Burke Mountain’s busiest week of the year, with President’s Day on Monday.
The resort says skier visits are way up, and the hotel is completely sold out. Burke Mountain is expecting up to a foot of fresh snow to fall this weekend.
Burke Mountain Resort refers to this popular time of year as, “Stoked Week.”
“This season, compared to past seasons, has just been incredible.,” Sara Kozlu, Marketing and Events Manager at Burke Mountain Resort said. “We’re getting so much snow, and not only are we getting a lot of snow, we’re getting a lot of great quality snow. So, it’s really making for some great scene and riding that we really haven’t seen in years past. This season specifically is kind of been amazing, and I hope it keeps going that way.”
“It was great we are teaching our four year old so more about her today, but still got a couple good runs in,” Emmett and Heidi Ledbetter said.
Burke bills itself as a family-friendly mountain, on the lower half. But the upper mountain features more advanced terrain.
