BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont’s tourism industry is touting a $4 billion price tag.
That’s according to a study from the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing.
They say that in 2023, an estimated 15.8 million visitors came to Vermont and spent a record $4 billion on goods and services.
The report also says visitor spending made up over 9% of the state’s gross domestic product.
That’s over three times the national state average of 3%.
9 % of Vermont’s workforce, which is over 30,000 jobs, are also reportedly supported by the visitor economy.
