ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) – How well is the Crescent Connector working for the city of Essex Junction? A study now underway aims to find that answer.
The city completed the project in October. The new street connects Main Street to Park Street to alleviate traffic at the Five Corners.
Officials say they have gotten great feedback so far from residents thankful for fewer traffic jams on Maple Street and Route 15.
In the coming weeks, the city will work with the Chittenden County Planning Commission to track various data points.
“Have them take a look at both turn data as well as traffic count data. So just the number of cars moving through. We are planning to get that data collected while school is in session and while it is not,” Essex Junction City Manager Regina Mahony said.
The city is also working to upgrade traffic signals to minimize jams.
