Lebanon Public Works employees arrested on theft charges

LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – Police have arrested two Upper Valley public works employees on felony theft charges.

Lebanon police say Damian Hetzel, 40, and Douglas Boisvert, 57, stole more than $1,000 from the city while working on the cemetery detail.

They will be arraigned on the charges in April.

Lebanon Police Chief Phil Roberts declined to offer many details in the case but did say that the investigation has been going on for several months.

“The case originated back in October when the police department was notified by city administration of some potential theft. We conducted probably 12 to 15 interviews with different staff members, as well as other material witnesses in the case,” Roberts said.

Both employees are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. The report is expected out next week.
