HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – Firefighters are keeping a watchful eye over a house fire in Hartford as high winds complicate the firefight.
Just after 5 on Monday night, Hartford Fire Department got reports of a fire on Valley View Road.
When they got there, they found a home with an attached garage engulfed in flames.
Firefighters used a nearby pond and shuttled water from a municipal hydrant to put it out.
Three cats were rescued from the building, but first responders say other pets may have died.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
