BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington shooting suspect has pleaded guilty to assault charges as part of a plea deal.
Jaiden Green on Tuesday pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault with a weapon and simple assault.
He was originally charged with attempted second-degree murder after police said he shot another person steps away from Church Street in March, leaving that person injured.
Prosecutors want the judge to sentence him to five to 10 years in prison.
The defense is asking for a two- to seven-and-a-half-year sentence with the opportunity for probation.
Green will be sentenced in April.
