Vt. to get $22 million in opioid settlement

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – 22 million dollars on its way to Vermont.

The state is getting money back from the family courts say fueled the opioid crisis.

It’s part of a 7.4 billion dollar settlement for the Sackler family and their company Purdue Pharma’s role in creating the opioid crisis.

The company, under the Sacklers’ leadership, invented, manufactured, and aggressively marketed opioid products for decades.

The settlement delivers funds to communities across the country to support opioid addiction treatment, recovery, and prevention.
