Winooski School District chosen for new FCC cybersecurity program

WINOOSKI, Vt. (WCAX) – The Federal Communications Commission is piloting a new cybersecurity program and a Vermont school district will participate.

The three-year program focuses on cybersecurity in schools and libraries. It explores the use of universal service funds to improve defenses against cyberattacks.

The Winooski School District is one of 707 participants chosen, including 644 other school districts and 12 libraries.

The district will provide the FCC with data to better understand how cash can keep cyberattacks at bay.
