Williamstown man taken into custody after police standoff in Barre

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – A week long manhunt for a Williamstown man has come to an end in Barre. Police say they now have him in custody.

Around 3:40 Saturday, Barre City Police saw 22-year old Devin Hallock on North Main Street. They say Hallock took off on foot and several agencies assisted in trying to find him.

Hours later, around 7:30pm, police learned that he was hiding at a home on North Main Street. Police surrounded the home and Hallock went onto the roof, refusing to surrender.

After about 2 hours he eventually did, and was taken into custody. He’s due in court later this month.

Last Sunday Hallock allegedly crashed his car into the storefront of Market 32 in Berlin.

Police say he was already on their radar doing donuts in a church parking lot 2 days prior. His father, Bryant, agreed to an interview with WCAX on Monday pleading to his son to turn himself in. He said that Devin was having a mental health crisis.
