New Hampshire furthers lawsuit against TikTok

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Time is ticking for the video-sharing app TikTok as New Hampshire’s attorney general doubles down on a lawsuit against the company.

Back in June, Attorney General John Formella announced a complaint against the company, accusing them of manipulating young users with addictive features leading to mental health harm.

Now, Formella is expanding that complaint to include TikTok Live.

That feature allows users to shower streamers with gifts that can be turned into money.

The state alleges that TikTok live has resulted in the financial and sexual exploitation of young users.

The complaint asks the court to require significant changes in how TikTok operates in addition to monetary damages.
