Suspect in fatal Waterbury shooting to face judge Monday

WATERBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – A Massachusetts man is due in court Monday to face second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a Waterbury man earlier this month.

Vermont State Police on Saturday arrested Fabrice Rumama, 20, of Springfield, Mass. Police say he shot and killed Shawn Spiker, 34, of Croydon, New Hampshire, on October 14 at the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury.

The autopsy determined Spiker’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

Michael Perry, 57, of Waterbury, was also injured in the shooting incident. Police say nobody has been charged yet with shooting Perry and that the investigation is ongoing.

Rumama is currently being held without bail. He is set to be arraigned in Washington County Court on Monday afternoon.
