Police arrest suspect in Waterbury fatal shooting

WATERBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police on Saturday arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting at a Waterbury trailer park earlier this month.

Vermont State Police say Fabrice Rumama, 20, of Springfield, Mass., was arrested on second-degree murder charges. Police say he shot and killed Shawn Spiker, 34, of Croydon, New Hampshire, on October 14 at the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury.

The autopsy determined Spiker’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

Michael Perry, 57, of Waterbury, was injured in the shooting incident. Police say nobody has been charged yet with shooting Perry and that the investigation is ongoing.

Rumama is currently being held without bail. He is set to be arraigned in Washington County Court on Monday afternoon.
