BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A national initiative to check in on your veteran neighbors kicks off this week.
Monday is the first day of Buddy Check Week, where Veteran Associations organize events to check in on veterans.
The initiative was first sponsored by New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan.
They also hold education events on peer wellness, encouraging veterans to reach out to other service members to make sure they’re doing okay.
