ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – A judge has ruled that a new gun rule in New York is unconstitutional.
The judge struck down part of a package of laws barring people from carrying concealed firearms on private property without the owner’s consent. That would include establishments open to the public, like stores and restaurants.
It was part of sweeping changes to gun rules in New York.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says the judge’s ruling won’t discourage her administration from “keeping New Yorkers safe.”
The attorney general is reviewing the decision.
