Essex Jct. man charged with breaking into cars, threatening owners with knife

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – An Essex Junction man faces charges after police say he broke into several cars and then threatened the owners with a knife.

It happened last Thursday afternoon on Saint Paul Street. Burlington Police say Denis Hodzic, 39, broke window of a vehicle and stole items inside. After being confronted by the owners, police say he threatened the owners with a knife.

Hodzic faces charges including aggravated assault and larceny. It’s the latest in what police say is a rap sheet with at least a dozen felony charges and several violations of court orders.
