Enosburgh man pleads not guilty to deadly attack on parents

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – An Enosburgh man pleaded not guilty Monday to killing his father and beating his mother with a baseball bat last week.

Jordan Lawyer was arrested by Vermont State Police on Friday and faced charges of second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated domestic assault arising from the alleged attack that left his father, Todd Lawyer, 54, dead, and his mother Robin Lawyer, 58, hospitalized.

Police found the victims Friday morning following a call regarding a disturbance at the home the Lawyer family shared near Tyler Branch Road in Enosburgh. Police say Lawyer attacked his parents with a baseball bat and was seen fleeing the property just before 9 a.m. He later crashed into a game warden’s vehicle and was taken into custody

An autopsy over the weekend confirmed Todd Lawyer’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Lawyer is being held without bail.
