MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – President Joe Biden has approved a major disaster declaration for Lamoille County communities hit by flooding in June.
On June 23, a severe storm washed out roads and caused more than $1 million in damages in just the town of Stowe alone.
The declaration unlocks federal funding for debris removal, infrastructure repairs and staff overtime pay.
It’s one of three separate events from the summer for which the state is seeking federal assistance.
