MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – We now know who will replace former Vermont senator Dick Mazza in Montpelier.

Gov. Phil Scott on Tuesday appointed Andy Julow to fill the vacant Grand Isle district Senate seat.

The North Hero resident was on the list of candidates submitted by the Democratic parties in the town of Colchester and Grand Isle County.

Julow is currently the executive director of the Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation.

He fills the position left open when longtime senator Dick Mazza stepped down earlier this year after 39 years.
