BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Momo lovers gathered at Himalayan D’Lite by Sherpa Foods in South Burlington for the first annual momo eating contest.
The goal is to help South Burlington food shelf. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the food shelf.
Contestants chose if they wanted chicken, pork or vegan momos.
They each had two bottles of water, and chose if they wanted mild or hot sauce.
Sherpa Foods owner said he is excited to give back to the community.
“I wanted to bring momos out a little bit, promote like I said our culture our food, and momos are the best, so I think it’s a perfect, you know, size to be eating quickly,” Owner Nurbu Sherpa said.
Sherpa foods has been around since 2015 with a goal of immersing consumers about Nepalese food made locally with fresh and natural ingredients.
