ROCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) – The start of spring brings the annual seasonal closure of 13 trails around the state to protect nesting peregrine falcons.
The falcons, which at one point in the 1970s had to be reintroduced into Vermont, are no longer on the endangered species list and populations have continued to rebound.
In this week’s Wildlife Watch, Ike Bendavid headed to the Mount Horrid Overlook in Rochester to speak with Green Mountain National Forest biologist Jeremy Mears.
