BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine researchers just got a big grant to explore the impact that fatty acids we eat have on brain health in seniors.
The $3.3 million grant from the National Institute on Aging will enable researchers to better understand how substituting saturated fats with monounsaturated fats can improve cognition on a short timescale.
Cat Viglienzoni spoke with Dr. Julie Dumas, a psychiatry professor at UVM, about the research.
