CLARKSDALE, MISS. (WCAX) – A man convicted of murder in Vermont has died in a Mississippi prison.
Alfred Brochu was sentenced to life in prison in 2005 for the aggravated murder of 18-year-old Tara Stratton in Barre in 2003.
The 71-year-old man from Newport was found unresponsive Sunday in his cell at the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
The Vermont Department of Corrections says his death doesn’t appear suspicious.
