BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Couples take to South Burlington in search of the perfect touches for their special day.
Ornate flower arrangements, dresses and jewelry and platters of food filled the Burlington Wedding Show at Doubletree by Hilton Sunday. It’s rarely easy or cheap to plan a wedding, but the event aims to connect Vermonters with the best vendors and deals for tying the knot.
Vendors experience their own share of struggles come wedding season. With food prices on the rise, Denielle Hopkins with O’Crepe says it can be tricky to set catering costs.
“There’s such a fluctuation with the chicken and the beef and stuff that we offer that we have to kind of play with the level of how much we sell them for,” Hopkins explained.
Despite this challenge, O’Crepe is booked into 2025. Hopkins says connecting with local food producers helps them set fair prices and attract customers.
