BENNINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Officials from the U.S. state’s attorney’s office say 41-year-old Tyler Hayes of Bennington knowingly possessed an unregistered bomb.
According to court documents, Hayes made the bomb himself and even told people he knew about the destruction it could cause if set off.
Officials say Hayes left the bomb in his former home after being evicted and took no precautions to make sure the bomb did not fall into the wrong hands or accidentally
If convicted, hayes faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
