BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont ski industry has undergone significant change in the past few years — lots of consolidation.
Many of the big players including Killington, Stowe, Mt. Snow, and Okemo have been taken over by large out-of-state companies. One of the independents still standing is Bolton Valley, which is back in the hands of the DesLauriers family. Patriarch Ralph DesLauriers founded the family-friendly ski area 1966 and owned it until financial pressures forced him to sell in 1997. In 2017, 20 years later, the family and a group of investors bought the resort back.
