GROTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Snowy conditions led to multiple crashes on Vermont roads Tuesday, including a serious crash in the town of Groton.
It happened on South County Road just before 5:30 p.m. Vermont State Police say Kurtis Swart, 42, lost control of his pickup and went off the road and down a steep hill, striking a tree. It took EMS crews to extricate the Groton man.
Swart was sent to Cottage Hospital for a chest injury that was not life-threatening.
In addition to several other snow-related crashes, Interstate 91 North in Weathersfield was down to one lane for over an hour after a tractor-trailer went off the highway.
