PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – A Greyhound bus being towed on New York’s Northway caught fire Monday after experiencing mechanical problems.
Authorities say a tow truck was hauling the empty bus north on I-87 to a body shop when the driver saw smoke in the rearview mirror. The driver pulled just south of Exit 36 and unhooked the bus from the truck.
No one was reported injured but the bus was a complete loss.
Traffic was stopped for a brief period and then limited to one-lane.
